Special course in trauma and fracture sonography

Sonography is a method with growing importance in traumatology. The rapid technical improvements of the past few years have expanded the wide range of possible uses. Above all, the option of differentiated assessment of bones, vessels and soft tissues in a single examination step makes diagnostics safe, fast and at the same time cost-effective. One focus of the course is the adequate assessment of soft tissue and joint injuries including muscle and tendon lesions. A second central topic is child traumatology, which always places special demands on the doctor. It is important to know the peculiarities of the growing skeleton in all ages and to take them into account in diagnostics and therapy.

With this course we want to take this into account and provide an overview of the detection and treatment of the bony lesions of growing age. We place particular emphasis on fracture sonography, which has received increased scientific attention in recent years. In addition to the implementation of fixed algorithms, the method has also found its way into the major specialist journals and their CME training courses (The Trauma Surgeon, The Radiologist, Trauma & Occupational Disease).

With this format, we can now offer you structured training in traumatological ultrasound diagnostics and child traumatology. In addition to attending the course, you can conduct an independent diagnosis training (DVD for Windows PC) with over 500 original ultrasound findings from everyday clinical practice. Here you learn on the one hand how to recognize pathological findings quickly and reliably and on the other hand the possibility of reviewing and checking sonographic findings (e.g. from on-call duty). If you successfully complete this training, take the (voluntary) practical exam in the course and complete the interactive training program available for download (for MS Windows, Linux under WINE, IOS devices with an emulator such as Wine Bottler) at home, you will receive the certificate " Fracture sonography I ”, which serves as evidence of a structured training towards the payers.

Each participant also receives a course book as a PDF (English).
